Goldsmithing

Behold, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: and I have filled him with the spirit of God, with wisdom, and understanding, and full of knowledge in all manner of work: to be a master of design in gold, silver and bronze (Exodus 31, v. 2-4).

Goldsmithing is an ancient, cultural and artistic medium which, over the centuries, has embraced new developments and changes in material, structure and form.
The creative process materializes in the workshop where there is a great deal of interaction between the various tools and the raw material. The goldsmith has to use intense heat in order to melt and refine the metal. This craftsmanship also includes processing and inlaying precious stones in every piece of jewelry or tool.

Goldsmithing is labor of love intertwined with the world of craftsmanship and the Torah (Bible). The workshop is where the cultural synthesis takes place and becomes a language in whose folds can be found every-day elements shaped into artistic, classic, ethnic, religious and gender-related contexts. The workshop is a place where you can go back in time to the basic raw material and design collections that have a wide range of ethnic handicrafts.
